I joined a paid online survey website. Why did they ask for my personal information?

By admin On August 27, 2007 Under Online Survey Questions

Online surveys are designed to give companies specific and detailed information about the consumers who are buying their products. As such, they need to know certain characteristics of their target audiences, as well as people who could be potential customers. If their target demographic is senior citizens, a person who is only 40 years old might want to use the product, too. The company can then expand their demographic, thereby increasing their profits. This also helps companies and surveys direct certain surveys to certain demographics so they can get the most accurate information possible. The reputable online survey companies will not sell your information, though, so you can feel safe when you build an online profile for their site.

Filling out your personal information correctly and with as much information as you can provide will result in you recieving more offers to fill out more surveys.  The better the information the company has on you the more likley they will be interested in your opinion.
